Starbucks revisted!

So last night, I went on my whole rant about Starbucks, the latte and the California dream, and interestingly enough, I ran into a report on Bloomberg on some changes going on at Starbucks:

March 18 (Bloomberg) -- Starbucks Corp. Chief Executive Officer Howard Schultz may introduce a plan for a loyalty program to stanch declining U.S. sales at a shareholders meeting tomorrow.

Schultz will probably offer free coffees or discounts to customers using prepaid Starbucks Cards to entice the chain's most frequent customers to visit more and avoid competitors led by McDonald's Corp.

So apparently, some of the nation has indeed decided their Starbucks latte are no longer made of dreams, but of real money that was earned through good-to-honest hard work! Furthermore, with McDonalds ushering in a new era of caffeinated drinks at a much cheaper cost, it seems to me that you can have your burger with your latte, and eat it too!

Of course, the point here is not so much having a burger with your latte, but understanding the current situation that a lot of us face today in the slowing economy. We must spend more wisely, and in things we need and especially in things that help increase our wealth [though they may be harder to find now]. Think and plan, because what you do over the next couple of years can seriously change your life tenfold!

There are still people out there drinking their $3 sunshine lattes while barely making ends meet, but you, on the other hand, will know that sunshine lattes are temporary highs. Because as my dear friend Stacie once said...

"there's gotta be more to life than chasing down every temporary high to satisfy me"
